Windsurfing: Ynyslas
Wind Direction: E
Wind Stength: 25-40 knots
Surf / Sea State: Flat to choppy
Air Temperature: 7ºC
Sea Temperature: 9ºC
Weather: Cloudy
Max Speed: 30.7 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered:

Fairly early start with Impi and the tide was still quite high so the wind was very gusty close to the shore, but once out a few yards it was plenty windy enough.

We had some good speed runs. I started on the S-Type and we were both recording speeds of around 30 knots. As the tide dropped off the wind increased a bit and we were both overpowered and finding one run down to the houses in Borth and back was quite an effort requiring a stop for a breather after each one.

I changed to my Hifly, just to see what speeds it could do and to have a bit of a retro day using board and sail that were both 15 years olds. The speeds I recorded were almost identical to those on the S-Type, although Impi was now putting in some 32 knots plus maximum speeds.

We stayed out for a while until the wind eased off a bit around 12.30pm and returned home exhausted. A good sail in good conditions, but still no ridiculous sppeds as the water was just a little too choppy.
